Difficult conversations at work
When the outcome of a conversation is in doubt, don’t do it by email. And show up in person if you can.
The synchronicity of face to face conversation gives you the chance to change your tone in midstream. Ask questions. A great question is usually better than a good answer.
And don’t forget—the value of a long pause is difficult to overstate.
”Eiffel Tower Blueprints! (Official). Found here.
The Eiffel Tower was built in 1887 by architect Alexandre Gustave Eiffel and his team.
It took two years to complete the construction. It was made using 9,441 tons of wrought iron.
About 60 tons of paint are required to paint it, and it’s painted once every 7 years (with brushes).
On a clear day, you can see 42 miles from the top. On windy days, it sways up to 15cms at the top.
It is 324 meters tall, and consists of 1,710 steps from the bottom to the top.
Over 200 million people have visited the Eiffel Tower.

Before you start, you have to learn the lingo. So say hello to our ‘Digital Production Glossary’. In this class we’ll cover the “what”, eg w: Image formats, software, program languages, banners and online advertising terminology, digital video glossary, version control etc. We’ll also cover the differences between PMs and producers and their responsibilities
Stndrd_ is an open source approach for establishing standards and practices in digital production.
Ugh, this hasn’t been updated in ages. Look at all the agencies on there! All attempted to collaborate and make a portal for interactive producer to come find stellar templates, join discussions, share and learn tips and tricks.
Producers have busy lives - at work that is. They all jump up over coffee and think ‘Yeah! let’s put a network together and create a community!” and that excitement lasts until they have to return to their computer screens to produce work.
I’m only complaining because it looks like a great initiative and saddens me to see no activity on the site since last year (!).
But…I’ve been there, said that, done that too. Until this year.
This site is just a glimce of what I’m cooking up with the WebProducer.org (WPO) team.
If you are interested in working with us, contributing and building a more enhanced version of this site, holler! We’ll be rolling out announcements towards the end of summer.
Until then, poke around the content on Srndrd_@ for some fab templates!

Moon Diamond.
This is a large-format photographic print (24” wide by 24” high), of an image of the moon that was dissected and reassembled to form a diamond. Printed on heavyweight matte coated paper on a Canon plotter. Plotters are normally reserved for printing large-format architectural and commercial prints, but in this case I’ve taken advantage of its large-format capabilities to create an inexpensive yet dramatic print. Every order also receives a free “Fortune Poster” as a thank you from TBP.
Love this.
